[edit]Wondering how to edit this U.S. County Entry?

Correction on the politics of Seminole County
[edit]I checked Florida's DOS's Division of Elections, and the assertion that Democrats outnumber Republicans in Seminole County was incorrect, so I corrected it.

- @BasicBoi2: As the old version of of the registration numbers were unsourced, the statement may have been correct on an earlier date. Those numbers tend to change with every update, so I have added "As of August 31, 2021" to your edit. In any case, thank you for finding the source and updating the statement. Also, please sign your comments on talk pages by adding four tildes (~~~~) at the end. - Donald Albury 15:29, 21 September 2021 (UTC)
Orphaned references in Seminole County, Florida
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Seminole County, Florida's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 00:37, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
Question
[edit]Thanks for the edit summary in this revert. I have a couple of questions. The first one is - what precisely is the BLP concern? Sincerely. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Seminole_County,_Florida&diff=prev&oldid=1280965130 2603:7000:2101:AA00:297A:9E33:47F1:40D7 (talk) 23:15, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
- Please read the policy at Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons, particularly the section on Presumption of privacy. I fail to see how the disciplining of a judge, in and of itself, is relevant to an article about a county. Donald Albury 01:27, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- I appreciate you responding. I've read it. When we cover counties, it appears to be relevant to discuss information relating to the county government (it's in the suggested template) including the courts of the county. The courthouse of the county is even an extra image in the infobox. And county judges seem to have been suggested for infoboxes over a decade ago though that is not the current format.[1] And it has even been suggested -though not acted on - that the I think that the entry was neutral and properly sourced. Tampa Bay Times is a good secondary source. Though not mentioned in what you deleted, and perhaps this coverage will be important to you, we also have articles on this by Bloomberg Law News,[2] Yahoo,[3] the New York Daily News,[4] the ABA Journal,[5] Inside Edition,[6] Fox 35 Orlando,[7] the Orlando Sentinel,[8][9] Law360,[10] Law.com,[11][12] the Florida Bar News,[13] Law & Crime News,[14] Orlando Weekly,[15] Latin News,[16] WFTV,[17][18] WESH,[19][20][21] WDBO,[22] News7[23] There are a number of more articles. I got tired. The person here is a public figure, and that appears to be important under the blp rules. It is not just an allegation - it goes far beyond that. It was a suspension. By the highest court in the state. Of course the subject may dislike mention of it, but the blp rule says that does not drive the decision as to whether it must be deleted. --2603:7000:2101:AA00:297A:9E33:47F1:40D7 (talk) 02:11, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- I've stated my opinion, you've stated yours. I will not edit war over it, but I would like to hear what other editors have to say about it. Donald Albury 13:57, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- I don't believe that the information about this individual judge is relevant to an article that describes the county's government generally, without an in-depth treatment of each county official (which would be beyond the scope of this article, I'm sure). Further, if we include the information about the judge, then do we include the information about the former tax collector who's now in jail?
- If we start adding controversy about individual county officials, where would we stop? —Eyer (he/him) If you reply, add

to your message. 14:06, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- This county and its government are over 100 years old, we don't need to report on every single controversy surrounding its officials, especially when they are of little consequence to its history. Badbluebus (talk) 18:15, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
